About Us

Finding Inspiration in Every Turn

Northland Track Club is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit track and field organization based in Kansas City, Missouri, dedicated to helping young athletes of all shapes, sizes, and ability levels discover their potential through the sport. We believe track and field is truly inclusive, offering every athlete an opportunity to find an event they enjoy, experience success, and challenge themselves to grow. Our spring and summer program provides positive, competitive experiences that develop athletic ability while building confidence, character, discipline, teamwork, and a lifelong love of the sport. With evening practices typically held at Staley High School, Northland Track Club provides a supportive community where every athlete has a place, every accomplishment matters, and every young person has the opportunity to grow.

Our Story

In 2015, Coach Jamar Parrish founded Pirate Track Club in Platte City, Missouri, with a simple vision: give young athletes an opportunity to stay active, compete, and discover the sport of track and field. What began with just seven athletes grew to more than 100 participants during the outdoor season. From the beginning, the mission extended beyond races and medals. Track and field became a way to develop confidence, discipline, resilience, and a belief in what is possible, while giving athletes of all abilities an opportunity to discover where they belong in the sport.

In 2023, Pirate Track Club relocated to Staley High School in Kansas City and became Northland Track Club. The name, uniforms, and home track changed, but the foundation remained the same. Today, Northland Track Club is a competitive youth track and field program serving athletes throughout Kansas City and the surrounding Northland. Through quality coaching and a commitment to individual development, we help athletes run faster, jump higher and farther, throw farther, become stronger, and pursue their goals—from those discovering track and field for the first time to athletes chasing championships and All-American honors.

There is a place for all of them here.

Our success is measured not only by championships, All-American performances, and personal records, but also by the confidence gained, friendships built, discipline developed, and moments when young athletes realize they are capable of more than they imagined.

Pirate Track Club years established our foundation, and Northland Track Club continues to build upon that legacy.

Different name. New home. Same commitment to the kids.

This is Northland Track Club. Our story is still being written.
